Outstanding vintage Frankoma 83-piece dinnerware set in patterns of Plainsman, Lazybones, Westwinds with green prairie green two-tone glaze. Gorgeous condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. All pieces are in overall wonderful age-appropriate condition with a few minor exceptions. You will find individual pattern style, color, measurements per piece, detailed conditions count below in the measurements. Please see photos and zoom in for details. Set your table in vintage pottery fabulous-ness with this 83-piece dinnerware set by Frankoma!! Each piece is created from Sapulpa, Oklahoma brick red clay and covered with gorgeous exterior green and prairie green two-toned glazing. We have the perfect pattern combination of Plainsman, Lazybones, Westwinds composed in this setting to offer to you. It’s going to look incredible placed across your dining table embellished with your delicious family feast! And, after dinner has been served and your guests have all gone, this dinnerware set will be a beautiful addition to a China hutch or display cabinet in your dining room or kitchen. Frankoma Pottery is well known for their timeless style and impeccable quality… this dinnerware set is just that. Impeccable!! Frankoma was founded in 1933 in Norman, Oklahoma by John Frank, a professor of ceramics at the University of Oklahoma from 1927 to 1936. The name Frankoma was derived from "Frank" plus the last three letters of "Oklahoma". Frank moved the company to Sapulpa in 1938 but had to rebuild the factory later that year after a fire. In earlier beginnings, Frankoma used light-hued local Ada clay, but it was replaced by brick-red local clay in 1953. John operated the pottery with his wife Grace Lee Frank until his death in 1973. The company eventually closed in 2010 and was auctioned on May 18, 2011. Over a thousand pieces of pottery plus showroom fixtures and equipment were sold. The 1,800 original molds and the Frankoma name were not included in the sale, nor was the real estate. August 2012 the factory sold to a non-pottery manufacturer, and they sold the original Frankoma molds and trademark name. As of April 2020, pottery continues to be made but in lower volumes. Each incredible piece is intricately hand painted and enameled bearing wonderful geometric shapes and patterns composed in beautiful colors of pink, lavender, brown, & burgundy with black speckled lines between, and white inner linings.
