Croquet Breakfast Egg Cup Set By Parkin And Marshall.
An ornate silver-plated croquet-themed egg cup stand with a pair of egg cups and a glass salt dish. The two serving breakfast piece features a circular, openwork base supported by four decorative feet. The handle is formed as a croquet hoop and ball, supported by three croquet mallets. Two ornate egg cups with pierced rims rest on pins attached to the base, while two spoons hang elegantly from the central frame. The fine craftsmanship and silver finish indicate this is a piece of good quality Victorian tableware. The base is stamped underneath: "P
MS, 2811, XL ALL".
Parkin
Marshall of Sheffield used the trade mark 'XL ALL' (granted 1789 and registered by Parkin in 1853).
