About the Item

This lovely Victorian christening cup is sterling silver and hallmarked London 1858. Christening cups are traditionally given for a child’s baptism and symbolize love and prosperity. They often become heirlooms. This cup was beautifully, but not obviously, engraved with the initials of the child. The raised motif on the cup and graceful curve of the handle give it gravity and interest. The hallmark is on the bottom of the cup.
