About the Item

This elegant Art Deco set of twelve Bakelite knives or chopstick rests was crafted in France in the 1930s. The modernist shape has a long glass rod and geometric side holders in red tea amber marble Bakelite. There is no visible maker's mark, and the set is still in its original gift box. The gift box is in used condition. One knife rest's bakelite side has a tiny crack. Check the close-up. Measurements (for one): 3.75 in wide (9.5 cm) x 1.19 in deep (3 cm) x 0.82 in high (2 cm). The gift box is 9.44 in wide (24 cm) x 10.25 in deep (26 cm) x 1.57 in high (4 cm). Note: The measurements in the item detail are for the storage box. Silver plate cutlery and Bakelite chopsticks are not included in the sale.
