About the Item
An item redolent of another age, this cake stand was originally made for afternoon tea, scones, petit fours, cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off, crumpets and slices of cake. I think of Fortnum and Mason's Fountain room and their Welsh Rarebit. It is excellent for Indian/Lebanese food, desserts in general. It provides a pleasing verticality and makes extra space at a small table. A bread plate fits in on each tier handsomely.
