About the Item

A whimsical and collectible salt and pepper shaker set designed and handcrafted by Emilia Castillo in Taxco, Mexico. This charming duo depicts a mother frog and baby frog, each sculpted in porcelain and decorated with pure silver inlay, a signature detail of Castillo’s nature-inspired aesthetic. Both pieces are signed “Emilia Castillo, Plata Pura, México, Marca Registrada,” dated 98, and numbered 27, confirming authenticity and studio origin. As the daughter of Don Antonio Castillo, founder of the renowned Los Castillo workshop, Emilia Castillo continues one of the most important design legacies in Mexican decorative arts. Her work merges Taxco’s long-standing silver tradition with playful organic forms, making her pieces highly desirable among collectors of Mexican silver, ceramics, and studio craft. This mother–baby frog set brings personality, artistry, and refined craftsmanship to any table or display—perfect for collectors, interior designers, and admirers of Taxco’s silversmithing heritage.
