About the Item

A Rare George III Caddy Spoon Made in London in 1814 by Cocks Bettridge. The Caddy Spoon is modelled in the very rare elongated kidney form. The bowl displays an outer band of foliate motifs on a scratch engraved ground, surrounded by prick dot borders. The handle displays a shouldered base and various bright cut designs and a vacant prick dot cartouche. This spoon is in quite excellent condition and is very well marked on the handle. A similar form can be seen in "Caddy Spoons" by Captain John Norie, Plate 50, figure f. Additional information: Length: 3.25 inches, 8.13 cm. Width: 1.25 inches, 3.13 cm
