About the Item

A Rare George III Caddy Spoon Made by Samuel Pemberton in Birmingham in 1804. The Caddy Spoon displays Pemberton's trade mark egg shaped bowl, however this example is unusually pierced and engraved in the centre with a floral and foliate spray, in addition to an outer pierced gallery surrounded by prick dot bands. The curved, wide, Old English pattern handle is engraved with trailing foliate designs and an oval cartouche, engraved with a set of contemporary script initials. The Spoon is in excellent condition and is very well marked. A similar example is shown on Plate 43 of "Caddy Spoons" by Captain John Norie. Additional information: Length: 3.1 inches, 7.75cm.
