Hallmarked in London in 1831 by Edward, Edward junior, John William Barnard, this stunning, William IV period, Antique Sterling Silver Christening Mug, retains it's original gilding, with a cast and applied grape and vine frieze, and an ornate handle. The christening mug, which is presented in it's original box, measures 3.5"(9cm) tall, by 4.25"(11cm) from handle to side, by 3"(7.5cm) deep, and weighs 5.47 troy ounces. The box measures 4"(10cm) tall, by 8"(20cm) wide, by 6.25"(16cm) deep.

An exceptional, fine and impressive large antique Victorian English sterling silver christening mug; part of our silver christening collection This antique Victorian silver christening mug has a circular, subtly tapering rounded form onto a circular spreading foot. The body of the mug is embellished with exceptional embossed and chased decorated angel/putto* head designs, accented with wing motifs to the nadir.
