The oval shape and the rich green colour reflect Frank’s characteristic blend of functionality and decorative aesthetics, making them suitable both as serving dishes and as decorative objects. Josef Frank (1885–1967) was an Austrian-Swedish architect and designer who joined Svenskt Tenn in Stockholm in 1934. He is best known for his colourful textile patterns and unique approach to furniture and everyday design, where he merged classical modernism with a more human and decorative sensibility. His designs for Svenskt Tenn remain among the most sought-after examples of mid-20th century Scandinavian design.
