19th Century Silver Plated Victorian Figural "Kate Greenway" Themed Napkin Ring
Located in Incline Village, NV
The Kate Greenway style Victorian figural silver plated napkin rings are probably the most sought after and desirable rings of the 19th century, and this ring depicting a little girl sitting on a small sled next to a napkin ring is in that category. Kate Greenway was a mid 19th century British children's book author who created Dickens' like characters with innocent child type characteristics, and illustrated them in her publications; attaining world wide acclaim and adoration which was not lost on the figural napkin ring industry at the time. The floral and wreath repousse application to the central ring body is bordered by a double ring raised edge perimeter. The girl is cast in great detail with lifelike facial features and Victorian period clothing and bonnet. The underneath is marked (see image) ""Derby Silver Co.Derby, Ct," and "Quadruple Plate 316" with the anchor and crown logo in the center. All in all, this is simply a lovely and charming desirable ring to add to your collection or even better to adorn your dinner tableware presentation. The ring was manufactured by the Derby Silver plate company...
