Hallmarked in London in 1879 by George Fox this ornate Victorian antique sterling silver pair of napkin rings are presented in a fitted case and are decorated with a cast and applied grapevine motif, which features leaves and bunches of grapes. Each napkin ring measures 1.25"(3cm) tall and 1.75"(4.5cm) in diameter, and together they weigh 3.18 troy ounces.
The box measures 2.25"(6cm) tall, by 3"(8cm) wide and 2.25"(6cm) deep.

A fine and impressive, unusual antique Victorian English sterling silver novelty pepper shaker; an addition to our diverse silverware collection.
This fine antique Victorian sterling silver novelty pepper has a plain ovoid shaped form.
The body of the pepper is embellished with impressive chased decoration depicting a cracked egg shell with a boy’s face and hands to the anterior surface and his feet and buttocks to the reverse.
The body has pierced 'pepper' holes in a hexagram formation to the upper portion.
This pepper retains the original fully hallmarked screw fit weighted base; which when unscrewed provides access to permit the pot to be filled.
This novelty pepper is a fine example of its type.
