This is a pair of antique Drinking cups. An Italian, bronze over marble decorative goblet in Grand Tour taste, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850. Strikingly presented cups, with superb relief decor Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Beautifully time worn bronze presents dark tonality Ornate relief presents prominent morning glory flowerheads Pair of vine form handles sit beneath the wide, shaped rim Standing upon a shield shaped socle in black marble Dressed to the base with a protective leather pad Substantial in the hand at a weight of 1.71kg and 1.68kg respectively This is a fine pair of antique drinking cups, with exceptional relief detail presenting Morning flowers. Popular in the Victorian period, they're also the birth flower for September. Delivered ready to display.
