Chinese coconut carved shell pewter tea cup, likely from the Qing Dynasty. These cups were considered rare and valuable, with the Chinese believing that both coconuts and silver could detect poison. Beautiful executed hand-carved wood with metal sheath lining. Dia 2 x H 1.25 in
