About the Item

A blue fluted plain salad bowl from Royal Copenhagen. The design was based on an antique chinese pattern and was created in 1775 by Royal Copenhagen. Arnold Krog, the artistic director of Royal Copenhagen from 1884 to 1916, revised the design in 1885. The pattern is called "Blue Fluted Plain" or "Pattern No. 1". The pattern is still manufactured by Royal Copenhagen, the shape number is 27 (salad bowl), hence the mark 1 / 27 on the back. The salad bowl has been discontinued. The bowl is fully marked on the back, the mark indicates the bowl was manufactured in 1965. The bowl measures 8 7/16 inches in diameter and is 2 3/16 inches tall. Made In Denmark.
