Mid-Century Modern Royal Satin by Wallace, circa 1965 sterling silver flatware set, the handles with satin/matte finish, 55 pieces. This set includes:
Measure: 12 knives, 9"
12 forks, 7 3/4"
12 salad forks, 6 7/8"
12 teaspoons, 6 1/2"
One gravy ladle, 6 1/2"
One serving spoon, 8 3/4"
One pierced serving spoon, 8 3/4"
One cold meat fork, 8 1/2"
One sugar spoon, 6 3/8"
One hollow handle master butter, 7 3/8"
One pie server with stainless blade, 11"
Includes bonus brand new storage chest - styles vary.
Excellent condition, with no monograms. This set will be professionally polished and sealed in individual plastic sleeves prior to shipping.
This pattern was designed by David B. Hoover and introduced in the year 1965. It was designed specifically to showcase the finish. Wallace associated "Royal Satin" with both Italian craftsmanship in Renaissance Florence and the modern "shape of today". It was described as "misted silver" by Wallace, referring to the matte, textured finish on the elongated handles.
