About the Item

An Unusual Set of Six George II Silvergilt Teaspoons. Made in London circa 1745 by Elias Cachart. The silver gilt teaspoons are modelled in the Hanoverian pattern and are decorated on the front of the stems with unusual shell details, scrolls and flower heads. The reverse of the bowls are decorated with a raying shell motif. The spoons are in excellent condition and are each marked with the maker's mark and sterling mark. The teaspoons are of a most unusual design and are modeled in the Hanoverian style. The shaped stems display a raised bearded male mask surrounded by Rococo shell and scroll details. The reverse of the stem displays foliate designs and a vacant Rococo scroll cartouche.
