An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver and mother of pearl fruit/dessert cutlery set for 12 persons, boxed, an addition to our dining silverware collection. This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver and mother of pearl fruit/dessert flatware set / service consists of twelve knives and twelve forks. The blades of the knives have a rounded form and the forks each have four tines/prongs. The anterior surface of each knife is embellished with fine and impressive bright cut engraved foliate decoration accented with a simplified border to one side. The anterior surface of each fork is ornamented with a bright cut engraved stemmed floral design accented with single leaves. We are delighted to offer this Magnificent solid silver gilt set of six fruit/dessert knives and forks. The set was made by silversmith Aaron Hadfield of Sheffield in 1839. All the cutlery is meticulously crafted and decorated with a 'Queens Pattern' design. In addition to the exquisite and intricate design on each of the pieces, the entire set presents a rich silver-gilt gold colour that conveys a sense of importance and indulgent opulence. Each piece is fully hallmarked on the knife/fork and their respective handles.
