Victorian sterling silver punch ladle. Made by Wood
Hughes in New York, ca 1870. Medallion-inspired terminal with cast bust of gallant lady mounted to stippled and beaded oval on leafing scroll mount. Knopped and beaded round stem; bowl lobed and fluted with gilt butler-finished exterior. On terminal verso engraved script name (“Netta”). Marked “Sterling” with maker’s stamp. Weight: 9.3 troy ounces.
