Antique 1700s Silver Miniature Teapot

A fine and impressive antique Iraqi silver teapot; an addition to our diverse Asian teaware collection. This fine antique Iraqi silver miniature teapot has a pumpkin shaped form onto a shaped cinquefoil foot. Each panel of the body is embellished with an applied oriental figure standing amidst clouds and waving a flag, apart from the posterior panel which depicts a foliate design. This Iraqi silver teapot is fitted with a subtly panelled push fit hallmarked cover surmounted with a collet set lapis lazuli finial. This antique teapot is fitted with an impressive handle entwined with applied foliate and tendril ornamentation extending from the aforementioned posterior panel to the body. The teapot is fitted with an impressive plain swan necked spout. The swept foot is ornamented with five chased paralleling scrolling designs. An exceptional, fine and impressive, large antique American silver teapot; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This exceptional antique American silver teapot has a plain panelled octagonal form with swept shoulders. The upper and lower rims of the body of the teapot is encompassed with a bright cut engraved alternating stylised leaf and chevron decorated border. Either side of the teapot is embellished with a shaped oval cartouche, each encompassed with an applied, graduating stylised floral bud border accented with a ribbon bow to the upper portion. One cartouche displays the contemporary bright cut engraved initial ‘K’ and the other remains vacant. The body of the teapot is further ornamented with single paralleling pin struck borders to each panel. The swept, panelled shoulders are embellished with a moulded reed decorated border to the rim. This American silver teapot retains the original hinged domed panelled cover surmounted with the original and impressive silver acorn style finial.
