About the Item
A fine antique Satsuma ware porcelain teacup or chawan.
By Shuzan.
With a cream ground and an entirely gilt exterior covered with extensive floral decoration of various flowers in reds, blues, greens, yellows, and pinks.
The rim is gilt and has a brown border and footrim has a black border.
Marked to the base for Shuzan (秀山).
Simply a wonderful tea bowl or cup!

It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
Condition Details:
There are two spots of staining to the interior bowl, some very minor losses to the enamel decoration on the rim. Otherwise, there are some fine
light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
