About the Item

Crichton, English sterling silver coffee pot from 1896, beautifully hand-hammered, and in Arts Crafts style with an elegant design. It measures 10'' in height by 5 1/8'' from handle to spout, weighs 11 troy ounces, and bears hallmarks as shown. Crichton Co. was established around 1890 by Lionel Alfred Crichton. In 1920 the firm was active with premises in London (22 Old Bond Street), New York (636 Fifth Avenue) and Chicago (622 South Michigan Avenue). The firm went out of business in the 1950s. The British Museum has Crichton pieces in its permanent collection. Please feel free to ask us any questions, and please see our other listings.
