Hallmarked in London between 1967 and 1973 by C. J. Vander this elegant Elizabeth II sterling silver five-piece tea set is of a classic Neoclassical Revival style. The set, which is in the manner of Hester Bateman, comprises a teapot, coffee pot, sugar bowl, cream jug, and a matching oval tray. Each piece has a plain, polished surface with finely engraved borders and a vacant oval cartouche to the centre. The set has a combined weight of 112 troy ounces.
The tea pot measures 6"(15cm) tall, by 10.5"(26.5cm) handle to spout and 4"(10cm) deep. The coffee pot measures 11"(28cm) tall, by 8"(20cm) handle to spout and 4.25"(11cm) deep. The sugar bowl measures 3"(8cm) tall, by 5.75"(14.5cm) wide and 3.5"(9cm) deep. The cream jug measures 6"(15cm) tall, by 4.25"(11cm) tall and 2.75"(7cm) deep. The tray measures 1.25"(3cm) tall, by 22"(56cm) handle to handle and 12.25"(31cm) deep.
