This exceptional antique George II Newcastle sterling silver coffee pot has a baluster shaped form onto a circular domed spreading foot. The surface of the body in junction with the handle sockets and spout are ornamented with a rounded, scalloped panels of flat chased decoration, incorporating floral designs and equidistant alternating shell motifs. The body is further encircled with an applied molded border to the upper rim. The antique coffee pot retains the original domed hinged cover surmounted with an impressive cast sterling silver acorn style finial. This Newcastle antique silver coffee pot has an opposing scroll wood handle featuring a plain scrolling thumbpiece and fitted to an impressive cast silver scrolling lower terminal and leaf ornamentation to the upper socket. This antique coffee pot has an impressive cast sterling silver swan necked spout embellished with scroll leaf motif decorated finger pieces, in addition to a scrolling motif to the lip.
