About the Item

This elegant Haviland Limoges porcelain tea set is a refined example of early 20th-century French craftsmanship, created by Haviland Co. in Limoges and decorated for the prestigious retailer J. Lanet in Grenoble. The service stands out for its rare Orientalist-inspired frieze, where vivid turquoise, soft coral, emerald green, and delicate touches of pink are woven into an intricate, rhythmic motif bordered with fine 24-karat gilding. The palette is unusually rich for Haviland, making this ensemble particularly decorative and collectible. The set includes multiple cups and saucers, a lidded teapot, covered serving dishes, a gravy boat, and assorted plates—each piece meticulously adorned with the same harmonious pattern and luxurious gold accents. The elegant proportions, graceful handles, and smooth, luminous porcelain embody the refinement for which Haviland is celebrated. The underside bears the green Haviland France mark, as well as the red retailer stamp reading Décoré par Haviland Cie Limoges pour J. Lanet Grenoble, confirming an exclusive commission. Overall, the set remains in beautiful antique condition, with only minor wear expected from age, including slight gilding wear and a discreet repair visible on one handle—neatly restored and structurally sound. A rare, beautifully coordinated ensemble that elevates any table setting or curated porcelain collection.
