Georgian Neoclassical sterling silver biggin coffeepot, 1807-1809. Coffeepot: Wide and curved bowl and upward tapering neck. Helmet mouth and hinged domed cover with round stepped finial; stained-wood high-looping handle in volute-scroll silver mount. Gadrooned and girdled. Engraved gryphon armorial. Stand: Gadrooned ring with three loose-mounted rings; tripod paw supports with stretchers supporting central heating element. Fully marked including maker’s stamp (Matthew Boulton), assay stamp (Birmingham) and date letters 1807 (stand) and 1809 (pot). Total gross weight: 33.5 troy ounces.
