About the Item
A collectible porcelain tea set titled "Design II" by American ceramic designer Peter Saenger, known for his sculptural and futuristic forms. Artist's impressed signature on the underside. Originally designed and produced in the late 1970s. This organically shaped, interlocking set includes a teapot, creamer, sugar, and four cups with matching tray, all finished in Saenger's signature matte white glaze. The "Design II" series gained cultural recognition after being featured as Captain Picard's tea set in Star Trek: The Next Generation. A striking example of modernist design blending functionality with sculptural minimalism. From a private collection. Dimensions: 7"h x 10"w x 8.75"d. In very good condition; one cup does have a chip on the rim (see photos for reference).
