An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver four-piece tea and coffee service, an addition to our silver teaware collection This exceptional, antique Edwardian four piece sterling silver tea and coffee service consists of a coffee pot, teapot, cream jug and sugar basket. Each piece of this fine Chester silver tea set has an oval rounded form, all in the Queen Anne style. The body of each piece is ornamented with panels of fluted decoration, incorporating a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a wolf chained and collared to one side. The upper rim of each piece is ornamented with an applied moulded border. Both the coffee pot and teapot are fitted with hinged hallmarked domed covers surmounted by the original carved painted wood and sterling silver topped pineapple finials. The silver teapot and coffee pot retain the original carved painted wood handles, featuring a plain scrolling thumbpiece. The cream jug is fitted with an elongated C shaped silver handle and the sugar basket a swing handle, each ornamented with reed decoration. The silver coffee pot, cream jug and sugar basket are each supported by a plain and unembellished oval pedestal foot. The coffee pot, teapot and sugar basket bear the retailer's mark 'Walker & Hall, Sheffield, England' to the underside. Condition This antique solid silver tea set...

This impressive antique Edwardian sterling silver teapot has been modelled in the Queen Anne style onto an oval collet foot. The lower portion of this fine teapot is embellished with batwing style embossed fluted decoration accented with subtly elevated rounded projections. The upper portion of the body is encircled with a narrow band reflecting the same fluted decoration, all in a swirl design. The Edwardian teapot is fitted with a hinged domed cover, which features further fluted decoration. The cover is surmounted by a carved, shaped fluted painted wood and sterling silver finial. This antique teapot retains the original hinged hallmarked domed panelled cover surmounted with an impressive sterling silver urn style finial. This fine Queen Anne sterling silver teapot is fitted with the original shaped carved painted wood handle with a carved scroll style thumbpiece, scrolling lower terminal and plain sterling silver sockets.
