About the Item

Rare elaborately decorated Jogja tea service with unusual decoration of boddhisatva, taotie masks, birds and pagoda-shaped lids. The tea service contains a teapot, coffeepot, sugarbowl, vase with 12 teaspoons and 1 sugar spoon and a vase with a tea strainer, all on a large tray. The items are marked: ‘made in Jogja’, 800MD (for 800/1000 silver), and makersmark used for the workshop of Moeljodihardjo from 1936 on (nowadays Mulyo Pratono). Condition: overall in fairly good condition, with some scratches on the tray and a dent in the foot/base of the teapot. Dimensions: Teapot: 24 x 25 cm. (spout to handle) Coffeepot: 19.5 x 17 cm. Sugar bowl: 19.5 x 18 cm. spoons + vase: 14 x 7 cm (incl. spoons) Teasifter + vase: 8.5 x 15.5 cm. Tray: 48 x 37 cm. Weight: Teapot: 1216.8 gr. Coffeepot: 602 gr.
