About the Item

Slip cast stoneware tea pot in a putty colored smear glaze. The tea pot features a spaniel finial and heavy Renaissance scrolls of flowers on an overall dimpled ground. Cast from the Wedgwood Bentley mold of 1775, which was discontinued after 1790 and revived with spaniel finial design in 1829. Impressed on the underside: 66, Wedgwood England, circa 1829.
