About the Item
A magnificent pair of Antique Georgian Silver Soup Tureens as part of an important service for the Earl of Lonsdale.
Each oval Lidded Silver Tureen is embellished with a chased swag and bow design with a bow mirrored on the stands. The Lid of each tureen has an impressive cupid figure riding a lion as a finial. Each Tureen features a pair of applied Rams Head handles and each tureen is further decorated with elegant engraved patterning and chased bands. The Lid, Body and Stands all have engraved crests. The Tureens each have a removable silver liner. The Tureens can be used both with and without the stands at the occasion suites.
The Soup Tureens were made in London in 1777 by Parker
