About the Item

Extraordinary wine-cooler in the form of a beautifully sculpted, gilt and polychromed Swan of impressive stature, makes certainly the conversation-piece of the party. The white painted swan's body set into a gilt base with a decorative open carved frieze, standing on four bold cabriole legs ending in paw-feet , the back of the swan's body is removable and reveals a tin-lined basin that can be filled with ice to hold several wine bottles. The whole whimsical concept and design of the Swan-Wine-Cooler alludes to the work of Jean François Cuvilliés A Belgian Architect and designer, who brought exuberance and style of Rococo from Paris to the southern parts of Germany / Bavaria.

Petit, very decorative English gilt cabinet on stand, with an Italian 17th century poker-work interior featuring an intricate system of drawers, including numerous hidden ones. Reconfigured in the 19th century. The perfect jewelry cabinet. The interior of the cabinet is indeed very intricate. Apart from the obvious drawers surrounding the middle compartment which can be taken out as a complete "box", there are several small drawers behind it, only accessible when the "box" is taken out, and the box itself has additional tiny drawers inset into it's back side. The cabinet is a very decorative, intriguing and unusual piece, configured in the 19th Century by integrating the 17th century Italian Poker...
