About the Item
A superb 20th Century champagne bucket / wine cooler. With a tapered, smooth body and grooved bands flanking the mounted plaque, the front displays 'Champagne DELBECK Reims'. The handles are formed in the shape of a vine of grapes with foliage surrounding. It is a stunning addition to both modern and classic homes, when not in use it can be used as a flower vase. Stamped underneath "ARGIT, MADE IN FRANCE".
Delbeck was a prestigious Champagne house based in Reims, a key city in France's Champagne region. Founded in 1832, Delbeck gained a reputation for producing high-quality champagnes, often enjoyed by European royalty and nobility. The house followed traditional Champagne-making methods, focusing on crafting refined sparkling wines. Delbeck also placed great emphasis on sustainability, practicing organic and biodynamic viticulture in some of its vineyards. Though its prominence has waned in modern times, Delbeck remains a respected name in Champagne history, embodying the rich heritage of the Reims region's winemaking tradition.
