About the Item

Folk art walking stick of American folk art. The stick is made entirely from a single branch of fruit wood, carved and ingraved. The tip is made of copper, smooth with decorative lines and studded. The shaft of the staff is carved as a sequence of rectangular rings Chained together. A cubic element fills the last part of the upper ring which opens in a circular shape circumscribed by a relief belt with a sort of lock in the rear part. Above there is a male figure with hands in his pockets, a short-sleeved shirt and metal nails to represent the buttons. The head shows attention to detail. United States, circa 1890.
