About the Item
This historic object is commonly known as the “Spinnenkop” or the “Friese Ruiter” in Belgium. This object, which originated from a military background as a mobile and defensive obstacle, was used by the customs or ‘douane’. These obstacles were placed to stop motorized smugglers. We date it back to the 1st World War era.
We offer this piece as a unique decorative item. The tabletops are not included, but they demonstrate the piece’s potential.
The piece is in good condition and shows signs of wear consistent with its age.
