About the Item

A fine antique redware pie plate. Found in Virginia. In red earthenware with 3 yellow slip wave-like devices to the center. The interior of the plate is glazed while the rim and exterior remain unglazed. Simply a wonderful early piece of early American redware! Date: 19th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There are roughly 10 small chips of varying size around the rim as well as a firing flaw, fine and light crazing throughout (most noticeable to the yellow slip), and some fritting. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some fine light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Unmarked Measurements: Diameter: ca. 7 1/2 in. Height: ca. 1 1/4 in. Items purchased from this dealer must delight you. Purchases may be returned for any reason for a period of 7 days.
