About the Item

A fine antique American stoneware jug. Attributed to the Branch Green Pottery in Philadelphia, PA. Of ovoid form with an applied handle and a tooled spout. Decorated to the shoulder with a coggled design of a bird with a leaf (or branch) in its beak. Condition Details: There are chips fritting to the foot, a popped bubble to the handle, unglazed spots to the body handle throughout, some popped bubbles fleabites to the body and rim throughout, some scratches in the glaze. Otherwise, there are some fine light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Attributed to Branch Green Measurements: Height: ca. 10 3/4 in.
