About the Item

A fine, diminutive 19th Century blue decorated salt glaze stoneware crock. With a cylindrical body, a slightly tapered neck, squared lip, and blue underglaze stylized tulip decoration around the body. Found in Virginia (near the Maryland border). With a volume measuring approximately 1/2 gallon. A wonderful, small scale crock! Simply great Americana! Date: 19th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no cracks or repairs. Condition Details: There is fritting and a few small chips and some fritting to the rim and chips and flakes to the foot. Otherwise, there are some fine light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Measurements: Height: ca. 8 in. Diameter: ca. 5 3/4 in.
