About the Item
Contemporary ceramic sculpture by French artist Véra Rybaltchenko. Made from chamotte stoneware with a patina before firing and fired in the kiln. Véra is a prolific artist who has experimented with a wide range of techniques. She mainly works in sculpture and volume, but also produces drawings. For many years she didn't want to show her work, concentrating on her production without feeling the need to exhibit it. After starting out in the figurative field, she slowly moved towards more abstract work. For the last two years she has been interested in ceramics, and a first exhibition is planned in Paris in 2025. All her ceramics are unique pieces made by hand, without a potter's wheel. Her mastery of clay, originally used to work pieces intended for bronze, is now reflected in her work as a ceramist.
