About the Item

A very stylish Japanese Mashiko Yaki studio pottery Yunomi with stylized designs in panels set within a brown glazed body in the manner of Shoji Hamada and dating from around the 1950s. The small cylindrical-shaped cup stands raised on a narrow rounded unglazed foot with the lower body decorated in grey stone-colored glazes similarly applied to the inner bowl with rust-brown colored glazes to the body and with two small rounded panels with abstract designs in blue and light browns on the grey stone ground. The Yunomi is not marked. In good original new condition and just found in the warehouse, never used before.
