About the Item

19th Century Swedish Chest / Box from Boden Norrbotten, Northern Sweden. A beautiful box with untouched original painting. On the lid it is painted with leaf loops and initials BJD where D stands for daughter, which means that it is owned by a woman. She probably got it at her wedding from her future husband. The box is in good condition stable in construction. Working lock and key that is original to the piece. Valuables were stored in these Chests. Made in painted pine.
