About the Item

1890's Sioux beaded cradleboard. The beaded top classic design, having thunderbirds with both sides on three white bars with red-white hearts and greasy yellows. Original cotton drop, in red with white foliate design, backed with white muslin. Tack slats are not new, but not original to the piece when in use. Remnant of a yellow silk ribbon on crown front. A beautiful display piece for a Southwestern home or handmade indigenous beadwork collection. Beaded top 8" x 9", cradle 25" plus 3" tab, 42" to top of slats.
