Handcrafted Oaxaca Clay Necklace – A Unique Artisan Piece
A one-of-a-kind jewelry piece made in the northern mountains of Oaxaca, Mexico -each bead is meticulously shaped by hand and fired in a traditional wooden oven, preserving ancient techniques passed down for generations.
The clay used in this necklace comes from Tlahuitoltepec, a region known for its rich, earthy tones and deep cultural heritage—its name even means “cold place” in the Mixtec language.
Designed by Silvia Martínez, a renowned Mixtec master artisan, this necklace embodies centuries of craftsmanship. Martínez has dedicated her life to working with clay, winning multiple awards, including 1st place in the National Mexican Ceramic Contest.
Unlike mass-produced jewelry, this fashion-forward statement piece blends authentic indigenous artistry with contemporary style. Its organic textures and earthy elegance make it a standout accessory that reflects sustainable craftsmanship.
