About the Item

Elegant antique four-panel folding screen, hand-painted with a continuous romantic landscape scene depicting a river, stone bridge, boats, and figures, executed in a painterly style reminiscent of late 19th-century European scenic panels. The composition unfolds harmoniously across the four panels, creating depth and movement, enhanced by a rich patina and visible craquelure consistent with age. The screen features softly shaped upper edges and is painted on canvas mounted on wooden panels. The reverse side is finished in darker tones, allowing the piece to function beautifully as both a decorative artwork and a space divider. This folding screen would be ideal for use in an interior setting such as a living room, bedroom, boutique, hotel, or set design, bringing atmosphere and character to the space. Period: Early 20th century (circa 1900–1920) Materials: Wood panels, canvas, hand-painted decoration Condition: Good antique condition with visible wear, craquelure, and minor losses consistent with age and use
