About the Item

A beautiful antique pine bridal cabinet. This cabinet originates from southern Germany and dates from 1849. It has a fair amount of wear and tear and displays numerous old repairs. For example, the crest was replaced and repainted at some point, as were the base and lock. However, the light blue original paint more than compensates for this. This graceful color and the marbled panels with a tree of life design are not often seen, making the cabinet a true eye-catcher. The cabinet still has its original layout, with shelves on the right and coat hooks on the left. More shelves or a rod can easily be added if desired. Sporadic traces of old woodworm are visible throughout; of course, the piece has been thoroughly inspected and treated. It used to be customary to give bridal furniture like this to the couple at a wedding. These pieces were later placed in a state room on the farm, rarely used for distinguished guests or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. This piece of furniture cannot be disassembled. 173cm high, 142cm wide, 64cm deep.
