About the Item

Primitive Windsor Chair in Original Paint, dating from the early 19th century. This chair is Sycamore and was made in the West of England, Devon or Cornwall and is very rare in retaining its original Green paint. Very good survivor, seemingly no repairs or restoration.  Lovely crusty original paint and patination. In America these are sometimes referred to as 'Forest Chairs' and often American and English versions have distinct similarities. Not many original unrestored examples are left.
