The sky shifts from deep oranges and golds near the horizon to cooler blue and gray tones higher up, with dark, moody clouds drifting across it, suggesting either the end or the beginning of a storm.
The painting is framed in an exceptionally wide and ornate wooden frame with a deep, beveled design. The frame is gilded with an aged gold finish, showing signs of wear, cracking, and patina that add character and antique charm.
