About the Item
Antique Tanjore Indian painting of Laxmi, the goddess of beauty, wealth and prosperity. She sits resplendently on a lotus flower, symbol of enlightenment.
The elephants playfully sprinkle her with rose attar (perfume) from shakers held in their trunks.
It is indeed a divine painting, meticulously realised with natural mineral pigments painted on wood. There is a curve to the wood, which has happened over time. This is a very rare genuine painting.
