About the Item
A wonderful, unique, and quite engaging original dot painting by senior Alyawarr indigenous Australian Aboriginal artist Gracie Morton Pwerle (1956-2024). Gracie began her painting career in the late 1970s/early 1980s in Utopia (about 250 km northeast of Alice Springs), first working with batik, before transposing her creations onto canvas. His paintings are minimalist, highlighted by delicate dots and a traditional palette derived from the colors of natural ochres.
The work is signed by the artist on the top verso and the original gallery information/paperwork and signed certificate of authenticity (COA) is attached to the frame backing.
