Fairy tales do come true, and here they are: Eleven brightly colored hand-painted panels with classic nursery rhymes. A group of 11 vintage folk art painted children's nursery rhyme panels in oil are classic.
These early to mid-century nursery rhyme panels include "Simple Simon," "Jack Be Nimble," "Little Bo Peep," "Little Jack Horner," "Old King Cole," "Humpty Dumpty," "Tom, Tom the Piper's Son," "Hey Diddle Diddle," "Little Miss Muffett," "I Saw a Crooked Man," and "The Cow Jumped Over the Moon," sharply drawn and hand-painted, with hanging hardware mounted to the top of each on the verso. The pieces came from an estate sale. They are in very good condition. Each panel has a wooden back and an attached hangar. These would make a gorgeous addition with an imaginative or non-traditional spacing, gallery style in a child's room. or even installed in the hallway outside a child's room as an inducement (Let's go see Humpty Dumpty and Bo Peep before bedtime) to go to bed. Wonderful find.
